Maybee he doesn't want to put stress on his thrust bearing when he is starting the car. Thats when most of the wear is put on the thrust bearing.

OMG..Cmon with that crap. I have seen many cars with 150K miles without a issue

    Its designed for safety!!!!

Which I am far against when it comes to Jing Ah Booing.... And the safety of others... I guess you never heard the story's about this crap. I have witness this first hand when my next door shade tree mechanic did this and one day his kid was in the car and started it and it took off into the tree's.. Lucky the kid was ok, but sadley many people have gotten seriously hurt, and killed by doing this... Which makes it illegal for alarms with remote start be installed with a 5 speed in GA from dealers/shops

That's odd I had a remote start installed on our 6-speed accord at a shop no problem....

I think it's fine as long as it has some sort of safety mechanism.
    Who knows?

Most High end companys like Best buy, etc will not install them.. But now they came out with the brake switch kill where if you remote start the car and get in with out the key and try to take the car and hit the brake it kills it , but still illegal ...The shop your talking about is these mom an pops shop that will do anything for money. I bet they will pass your emiisons too for a fee...That is Illegal too.
But the kill switch for the brake still wont stop the car if you engaged the clutch and put into gear, or left into a gear and remote start it , and it will take off also.
So to the answer your question/answer/comment

its because the place you went to isnt a Corp bussiness and they don't care as long they make the money ...A High end Corp bussiness will not install this as its against the law and safety issues.

LOL at Best Buy being "high end".

some cars have a 4 wire connector because the NSS is also the switch for the back-up lights. To find the wires for the NSS you just put the car in park and see which two wires have continuity with a multi-meter.

I guess one would want to by-pass the NSS as a test to see if the NSS is bad or not. Or if you're swapping from auto to 5 speed. Those are the only reasons I can think of.

High Corp is what I meant not they do high end work big difference there buddy. Best buy workers are high school drop outs making 8 bucks an hour that can't get a real mechanic's job...No harm to those that work for them.

High end as in a million dollar company not a Mom and Pops that take everything legal or illegal just to make ends meet that week/month...

Best buy has more to lose then a MOM and POPS shop!

I am sure you have taken apart motors that use 2700 pound pressure plates and inspected the thrust bearings. I have.

I get your point about the safety issues of disabling the neutral safety switch.
