ACL Bearings

You can get the recommend bore measurement from ACL for the particular bearings that you are running. Then you can measure your main journal bores, your main journals on your crank, your rod bores, and your rod journals on your crank to make sure you are within spec. You should use a bore gauge and a set of micrometers to measure.

ok cool. but the machine shop said that since they measured everything up. all i have to do is just put them in.. how true in that???

Depends on how well you trust your machine shop. If it's within the proper tolerance, then you can use a standard size bearing.

Dirtymechanic, there's nothing wrong with plasti gauge so long as you know how to use it. It has been used, even in high performance engines, for years and is a correct and accepted way of measurement.

make sure they note and tell you which bearing halfs go to each bearing cap... every bearing is not the same even if they are all came from the same bearing set. so where ever they had them when they measured them that all HAVE to go back to say same rod or main bearing site to get the same measurement and clearance when you put it together.
