    Default Oil Pan Question

    I have a 90 integra ls and it has a sprip pan from the bolt,does honda make a larger bolt or is there an aftermartket bolt i can purchase from a local part store thanks...aslo my other question 90-91 ls oil pan is different than 92-00 ..what is the difference ?i know the down pipe from the exhaust header is different (shorter)and i have a 92-93 exhaust headers on ,i had to take it to the shop to extend to reach the caytlist convertor.and its vibrating on my oil pan. would changing the oil pan solve this problem? thanks IA

    hmm, hey kevin i dont think that theres any difference on the oil pan, are you sure it is? all ls oil pan's should be the same. also about the problem on the catalyc convertor vibration... i'm not sure what they did to it so i wouldn't know what to say lol. is the catalyc convetor hitting your oil pan by any chance?

    no, the exhaust down pipe is hitting the oil pan, they have a differnt part number from honda thats what the guy at honda/acura specialst tod me on tara blvd.,im wondering since its so close maybe the oil pan is getting hot not sure

    but if u have 92 and up b18 oil pan they should be identical

    if that's the case then yeah man, the exhaust down pipe is making ur oil pan hot. the exhaust down pipe can get pretty hot, i just hope nothing goes wrong with ur oil pan.

    If your talking about the oil drain plug bolt is stripped, you should just be able to take it into a parts store and they can match you up with a slightly bigger one, that will tap the pan as you screw it in (can't remember what they called)

    no its not the bolt i guess who ever did my last oil change overtightned it to much so maybe getting a bigger bolt might work

    I was not meaning the bolt stripped sorry, was meaning the pan.

    no its jus the cheap ebay headers they where made like that for a 92-93 integra because my year mode(90-91)l is a little different

    yeah before i race u lenny, imma need some syncromesh so i have a 70 percent chance of not missing 3rd lol

    hahaha, do it!! shit, i got to do the same with mine's to just to be on the safe side. it's about to be 25,000 mile's on my car, so yeah got to change it soon.

    you can just drill the hole out and tap it again if it is stripped. You will have to see if there is enough material to do it without compromising the integrity of the metal.

    Or damage the block by doing it... Also the oil pans are slightly different . And Sounds to me whom ever done your exhaust didnt do a good job

    personally id just change pans im sure u can pick a good 1 up on here for $20. ive never seen a tap that big sold in stores. just snap on, matco, and mac if u have a local u deal with im guessing no. just get a different pan.
