The steering wheel wont lock up if the ignition is on. Also, my dads truck did that after he got it and when he took it to the shop and they ran a check on it and it came back with no problems! but when he left it died agian so he took it back and come to find out it was a bad sensor somewhere and ford had recal on that part! just from past experiece ive had.

exact same thing happened to me...mine used to cut out while driving on highway 316....and PS shuts off and i was thinkin wat were to happen had i been going on a curve...

anyway i changed the map sensor, man relay, changed the dizzy rotor twice, fuel filter, and spark plugs.....AND still not avail....
so we just replaced the whole distributor....and that took care of the problem.....gl
