    Default EGR Valve vacuum

the hose that connects to my EGR valve that creates the vacuum to open the valve does not create a vacuum at all.

nothing is clogged and the EGR valve itself works perfect.

that one hose just does not create a vacuum at any rpm

what could be causing this problem?

I'm not seeing any problem if it's working fine.
EGR is open mostly at cruise, not idle or reving the engine.

well i mean the egr valve is good. there is nothing wrong with it. its not even a year old.

i dont know if it is actually working while i drive. no check engine light comes on or anything.

i took the hose off to test if there was a vacuum and when i reved the engine i felt no vacuum occur in the hose.

    Why would you suspect it?

It's only gonna produce no more than 2-5 inches of vacuum so naturally, you won't feel it. Are you failing emissions? If not, don't worry about it.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

yeah i failed thats the whole reason im messing with it.

the only thing it failed was the NOx. i took it to a mechanic and they said i had to much carbon build up and that was my main problem so i cleaned everything out tonight and thats when i checked for the vacuum and didnt feel any.

Go retest or hook a vacuum gauge up.

Then just try to retest the emissions and see what happens.

    LoloL....

I'd probably consider cleaning out the egr ports, but that means you have to drill those rivits that you see poking out from each running coming straight across from the egr. I would try to find a big pot and drop the manifold in and let it boil in water for a couple of hours. That's just me though.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.
