    Default Headlight turned pink.....

Got a 1999 Acura TL 3.2 and the headlights were just fine but I noticed that my drivers side is pink instead of white.

What I found odd is that when I turn on the car, both headlights are white but after a few minutes the drivers side turns pink.

Is the bulb bad? Should I get them replaced? They are HID bulbs and I heard that if the whole system is messed up its going to be pricey.

it sounds to me like the bulb is getting old and going through a color shift. i would honestly jump the gun and replace it if you can, because if the bulb blows, it has a tendency to take out the ignitor pretty quickly then you are looking at a pretty good little bill to repair it.
    Who knows?

    It appears you're right.
Sorry, guess I'm just used to everyone throwing a plug n' play kit on everything!

Yea, its not a cheapo HID kit XanRules. Acura TL's come with factory HID lights. I have talked to Acura and they told me if you need the ballast and igniter replaced its going to 800+!! WTF?

I have gone ahead and found the OEM bulbs on ebay....Should arrive in a few days. I just hope the bulb doesn't blow...I really don't want to deal with a costly repair. I will try to avoid driving the car at night.

    Sounds like a good plan.
Then again, if you buy the OEM parts from the company/dealership, that sounds like a correctly absurd price to pay.

Yea...Acura wanted 200 bucks for the OEM bulb!!! They have got to be kidding me. I found them online for a fraction of that price. (Phillips 4300K D2R)

Acura HID bulbs are certainly high as giraffe pussy. At the dealership I worked at we charged $143 plus tax and installation. shit sucks, but if people are willing to pay it i guess that's what happens. that's why i wanted to give ya a fair warning, the price on them is ridiculous.

All TL's from 99 and up only cam with HID's.

I sell the OEM replacement bulbs for $40/pair for the factory D2 Series bulbs. I will have 6k, 8k, 10k, and 12k instock on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Going up to 6k from 4300k will make it look like the newer TL's.

Just sent you a PM homie. I would like to pickup a pair today. The phone number in your signature seems to be disconnected.

Ohhh....Sorry, I am in need of the bulbs and I just didn't read your post 100%. I should be getting my Phillips bulbs Tuesday or Thursday. I'll let you know which comes first.
