budget is a biggie here...$8k K series vs $5k H series (done right)
I love my H but if i was "cheif lots o dough" i would have a K in a minute!

just start off with a b series then work ur way up. start with a jdm b20. oh, i got one for u! 650![]()
Why would you do that when you can have am H22 VTEC for just twice as much with tons more power and torque? Actually less than double because you'd still need a b-series transmission for your longblock.Originally Posted by j0natell0
i would go with the h22. even if you got the 220hp rated k20, you are talking about twice the price for 20 more horsepower. on the other hand, the k20 is better for boosting than the h22. the h22 is hit or miss. i have heard people pushing 16lbs on a stock h22 but i personally knew a guy that rode around on 7lbs for a year, pushed it up to 9lbs and blew it in a day. i also knew a guy with a k20 that boosted his with 16lbs and used it as a daily driver and had no problems. if you plan on boosting, spend the extra money and get a k20 but if you are going na, go with the h22
I'd go with a h22, alot cheaper and alittle less power. A h2b would be better.
I've seen some N/a h22 hondas get into 11's.. I'm assuming this is going into a civic?
get a Dseries and boost it, if it blows, but another one. Cheap also

Just get a B-series ls or B20 then work your way up the ladder ls-vtec or B20vtec then after some time start considering something like a K to jump from a D to a K is some serious business IMO
well my bank sucks now but to me it does not matter; i am going spend the money but it might take a while but the thing is i am doing work on my suspention for the dragon in April but i am just kinda getting my prices.and yes i have a boosted civic.
what would i have 2 do o get the k20 in my civic besides the engine and trannie
i was goign to say if price doesnt matter to u u pick the 1 u want. but as i can see u already have.Originally Posted by ducz17

i have an K20a3 motor, tranny, ecu, wiring harness for 1000. gets same hp boosted as an K20a2
wealth is of the mind and not the pockett
run the h22 and get vteckidds headers and build it. whats it going in? cause if thats the route you wanna go let me know, im doing an h22 in my 91 civic, which is almost done.
and look up www.explicitspeedperformance.net
they hooked me up and put me in the right direction![]()
He said a civic. He said its boosted already, why swap it? Just build it and take the boost up..Originally Posted by Ef_ftw73
oh, i didnt see any of that, then why spend a lot of money just to go slower or the same amount of hp/tq
That's what I'm saying lol. Just build it, and take the boost up.Originally Posted by Ef_ftw73
i second that, and im doing a swap in my car and it is not cheap.

i would choose the H22 over the K20 for the liitle reason of less difficulty and a lot of K20 swaps ive seen don't come out too well (because of installers) but also the H22 is ahellofalot cheaper and performs great. gl with whichever you choose!
