Default 1995 Legend. Alternator or Battery

So I was coming home on Monday afternoon when all of a sudden my battery light comes on. Everything still seems to be working fine. Once I get off at my exit I noticed that the ABS light comes on too and then my needles start to freak out everytime I put my foot on the brakes. A couple of minutes later I noticed that my ready goes off when I hit the brakes. This happened for about 10 miles until I got home. So I clean off the battery terminals of the white fluffy acid and then fill the battery with water. Car still cranks on it's own but sunroof and all accessories are running really slooooooow. Also at this point my Omnifi hard drive won't even power up but the H/U is on. My son went to get my laptop out of the trunk and left the trunk open a total of about 12 hrs or so. Trunk light on, dead battery. So tonight I jump the battery and it starts right up, however battery light and ABS light still on also. I unhook the cables from the other car and the Legend dies. I'm thinking it is the alternator...opinions?

Stop by a parts store and have them test it for free.

The last time something like this happened, I think it was Advanced said they could not test the alternator unless it was off the car.

Most likely its alternator because its not charging your battery. But go get it tested first before you buy anything.

yeah, that is what I thought too. I have had my share of weak batteries and I know that most of the time the battery light does not come on except for the Alternator has been my experience. Guess I will be two willing it until this weekend.

I meant have the battery tested. A bad battery can overwork an alternator and kill it so it's not uncommon for it to be both either. The symptoms point to a bad alternator but you want to check all the grounds, obviously get the load test done to make sure!

I appreciate everyone's help. You know my Legend is a 1995 with 198K when I bought last July. I know have 224K and only replaced the drivers axle and alternator looks like and it's my dd. Drove up to Gatlinburg for the weekend with the kids and wife and the car ran like a champ. Gotta love it.

No. I rode my bike to work and probably won't get to it until this weekend. I appreciate the assistance. I wish the location was like the H22. It is low in the Legend.
