NOS bottle MAX psi it can handle???

I have a friend with air ride on his Nissan and was thinking about using 2 NOS bottles as his air tanks. The bottles will only need to hold no more than 200psi. But just to know what is the max PSI a NOS bottle can handle before its unsafe?

i always took mine to 1100. she hits hard.. my friend would pull the wheels when we came out of the whole with a 160 shot. my one freind always spray 200.. and my freinds dad sprays a 300hit ..

The problem won't be the bottle size - a 10lb bottle is what "most" people use, but there are bigger nitrous bottles.

A true tank (www.masterimagecustoms.com / www.airbagit.com ) will be more versatile as it will have ports for multiple valves. If he insists on a "nitrous" bottle you will want (need) a HiPo valve for your airride application if you want the air to really flow out of the bottle and into the bottle(s).

Oh yea... there is really no such thing as a "nitrous" bottle... the bottles used for SCUBA and nitrous are all industry standard -- same 'born on' date, same manufactures and everything... they are just fitted w/ different valves depending on their intended use.

If I was doing this I'd grab a coupla OLD style Holley NOS bottles for this application as their nozzles outflow a lot of the newer non-HiPo valves. Also any bottle over 5 years I'd get the valve recertified... most SCUBA shops charge about $50 for this, but the Atlanta area shops will prob send the bottle here... and you can work w/ these guys directly w/out going through a scuba shop.

Also he will want to run a water separator if he uses any SCUBA/Nitrous style bottles as they won't have a water drain valve, which is needed to remove the water (to save the valve seals) that will accumulate anytime you compress and release air. Airride specific tanks will have this release port/valve already installed.

The bottle will be stamped with a psi rating.

Well its already bagged as of this weekend. Only the back right now. But he was wanting to make it look better after he gets his bed cut and back on.
The temp set up as of Thursday night just before we 2 linked it. It still needs some fine tuning, a compressor(his is leaking), and some paint but it works great.
