97 Civic Lx need some mods

I have a 97 civc lx im lost on what to buy from ebay...

So i was looking around on ebay for a header for a 97 civic lx Engine code-d16y7 i was wondering what u guys think about the ebay combo package..does anyone currently have it...or if u guys have any suggestions for a header and a catback exhaust..im on a budget here so please help a brotha out

first off im not gonna talk shit about fixing up a single cam non vtec in a four door but if you must i would get the catback from nopi (#1)cause it is actually made by skunk2 with a nopi badge and it sounds really good but you should think about switching to a singe vtec and build on that first. g/l i love four doors especially that body style

i wouldnt buy an exhaust off ebay unless it was a name brand.. *certain apexi, greddy, invidia, etc...*

Ive got the Nopi N1 catback. Doesn't sound any different than the Apexi, but that may have something to do with having a full exhaust.

I say just get the header/downpipe package from ebay (its on there somewhere) then get a different catback.

if i get the header..approx how much should it be for it to not give out l8r on...

PM Tdurr and ask him how Roche's Header is holding up. He had them on his civic for a long time, probably still does.

From what I can tell, they arnt prone to "give out", just get a bad rep because its from ebay. But screw those people and their money to burn.

Well, the thing I would suggest would be get a y8 head, swap it onto the y7 block, run your wires for vtec and change the ecu. Would not cost too much and would be the biggest performance upgrade for your money

you can buy my d16y8 head, get a manifold and ecu and a little wiring then you would have vtec. i'm selling the head, vtec solnoid and valve cover for $100. ecu can be found for $50 or less, and a manifold can be found at a good price depending on the person. then get a header, intake(short ram i think) and a GOOD exhaust. i have had an apex N! and a greddy evo2 on my si an i love the greddy sound, and so do a lot of other people. it does not sound like a pissed off bumble bee. i gutted the cat today so it got a little louder but hell i can prob get a vid up for you tomorrow. remember you get what you pay for but i would seriously consider putting a vtec head on that puppy then mod it.
