Default need some suggestions, im foreign to the vw scene

so my girlfriend got a 2001 cabrio and although its an automatic and a girly car, its really fun to play with. im thinking about getting one this summer and i want to drop it, get some better looking wheels, wider pipes and performance muffler, intake, etc. basic stuff just to make the car sound look, sound and handle...manlier. since im a honda guy and know really close to nothing about vws or any euros for that matter, i'd like to hear some suggestion, and possibly get the names of some good vw performance parts websites, and hear about the quirks and whatnots about cabrios. any suggestions or advice would be appreciated, thanks

The cabrio was only offered with the 2.0. Everything from a Golf MkIII ('93-99.5) will fit. Theres really no way to "man-up" a cabrio (aka the Tuna Basket) unless you do an engine swap at least.
