    Default Rebuild or Swap?

ok so i am slowly getting the work on/do things to my car bug again. the first thing im going to be doing with in the next few weeks is put new rotors and brake pads on my car. but i am also trying to debate the big picture.

My car hit 200k a few months back and i have been wanting to rebuild/swap my engine for a while but i am not really sure what i want to do. honestly, i wouldnt mind keeping the same engine as long as it was just safe to rebuild it and that was that. but im not sure. i want to eventually maybe get a little more horsepower out of it. either by turboing it or just building it NA but im not sure. what do you all think would be the best course of action?

Maybe... if you want a little more power out of your current engine and you've got that itch to undertake a bit of work, go ahead and rebuild it! No sense in swapping if you've already got something that's good enough for you as it is.

My opinion is to rebuild it if and only if you know what you're doing.

Rebuilding an engine that still runs is a gravy job as long as you know what youre doing and have the correct tools.

rebuild for boost is my say.
its going to cost more to get a large amount of power from n/a.
forced induction will get you more power for less money.

i know that. if i was going to rebuild it. i would either have a spair engine to build while i drove on this one so i didnt fuck it up. or i would get all the parts i wanted to get together and have someone else rebuild it for me. i would love to learn, so i would love to do it myself, but if i couldnt it wouldnt bother me. but i am going to slowly get this done. i finally have the idea of the final look for my car and i want to start on it.

as far as the power goes, i only want like 230 at the most? im not lookin for anything crazy. i mean i would want the engine built for boost to be honest with yall.

i have an LS engine in my car. the body is an RS. i dont really want to have to go through the hassle of trying to find a b20. i would honestly just rather rebuild my engine and then turbo it.
