Default Calling out anyone who has parted out a Miata - need help pricing

I am in possession of a 96 M edition (paid 200 bucks for it - don't ask how ) and I'm trying to decide to fix it (just cosmetic body stuff and ripped top) or part it out. Motor runs great and has 120K.

The interior is dirty but I'm a cleaning master.

Cool, and how much do you think I could part it out for? I'm guessing the 1.8L motor and tranny would be 600-700... seats like 3-400, interior stuff another 600, etc. ??

To fix it I need a new top, front and rear bumper, driver's taillight, and get some dents repaired in driver's quarter panel and trunk. I'm guessing it'll take around 2K to fix so my profit would be 2K but I have to put the 2K up front to fix it. I'm trying to figure if I could just part it out for at least 2K and save myself the hassle of fixing it. I'd have to pay my friend a few hundred to pull the motor/tranny out but I can do the rest pretty much.

Motors at Mazmart with that kind of mileage actually are closer to $1k and the 5 speeds are abour $400-$500. The leather seats usually go for around $250-$300 for the pair. The diff can go for about $800 with the DS and CV's for the 1.6L guys to swap to the 7" rear. The diff alone goes for about $400-$500. Body parts go well on Specmiata.com as do suspension bits since they're always bending stuff. If you part it out I can guarantee you that you will make over $2k even after paying your friend, honestly you'll probably end up closer to $3k. All the parts cars I've had with good drivetrains and LSD's I've ended up around $3k pretty easily. I've got a parts car that has all the pieces you're needing except the top if you decide to fix it.

Just sell the whole thing for 1500-2k and be done with it.
Parting Miatas in this economy takes years, especially when you dont have the connections.

Kurt has more miata parts than I do and that's pretty hard. lol And he's right which is why we both have so much crap laying around. If its only $2k to fix it then I'd put it back together and have a fun car for $2200.

Hey i'll give you $200 and a xbox 360 for the miata. Those thing are worthless anyway. Those motors go for $3.95 on ebay! and the seats are like $0.99 each. The M edition sidesills are like $150 a pair though!!! LOL

You met some friends of mine last week, Evan and Logan, I'm for WR. I'd love to come up and see the beast one day. Maybe get a ride?
