    Default adjusting timing??

    i have a 1.7l gsr head in they other day i was driving down the road in by timing belt broke i clutch the car as quick as possible in killed it. i am in the process of puttin the motor back in time do any of yall have any infomation on the easiest way to do it lmk reps to all that can help.

    a broken t belt on a honda is very bad. u can try to put the belt back on an cross your fingers u dont have any bent valves.

    if he swaps the head then the old head doesn't matter, but he might wanna have the bottom end checked out for sure.

    he didnt say he was swapping heads just said he wanted to put the belt back on.

    well i took the vavle cover off in everthing looked good. if u look at the cam gears the left one the up arrow is facing stright down the right cam is 3 notches to the right so how do i get ehm back point the same way an tran whats ur number?

    he's talking about a 17 gsr head. and i know his car, and thought it no vtec.

    i got it man i have till wait till monday to get the timing belt i bought one for a 1.7gsr in its to small i guess i need a 1.8 cause i have a b18a1 block with a p72-1 head which i was told a 1.7 gsr head which come in the years of the 90-93 intgra gsrs

    too small? did you loosen the tensioner thing.

    yea me and my step tried that but it would never go on so we are just gonna go buy a 1.8 timing belt in may b it will work..... i got a question do the up arrows have to line up on both cam gears or is it safe to just put the belt back on in go from there????

    make sure the crank is positioned right, but there arrows should be up, and there are makings on the side that will line up with the head. don't get the arrows just pointed up. get the markings to line up with the head, the arrows are for reference so you know which way to have the cam gears.

    Definately both cams with the arrows up and if you put the lower cover on temporarily there is a timing tab. Line the white mark up on the pulley with that tab and you should have it. Good luck with it, Hopefully you got lucky and didnt hurt anything. It can be hard to tell just pulling the valve cover.

    u need a gsr/itr blet. a b16/b17 will be way to small.

    the tensioner has nothing to do with it. he needs the right belt.
