    yea me and my step tried that but it would never go on so we are just gonna go buy a 1.8 timing belt in may b it will work..... i got a question do the up arrows have to line up on both cam gears or is it safe to just put the belt back on in go from there????

    make sure the crank is positioned right, but there arrows should be up, and there are makings on the side that will line up with the head. don't get the arrows just pointed up. get the markings to line up with the head, the arrows are for reference so you know which way to have the cam gears.
