    Default GA16 5spd Transmission Compatibility Sentra/200sx

    I have a friend with a 97 Nissan 200sx with the 1.6 GA16 engine. It has a 5spd that has decided to now be a 3spd. I was wondering if the earlier model (91-94) Sentra transmissions are interchangeable with the later models (95-99)?

    Thanks for any useful input in advance. I will probably just call a junkyard tomorrow and get them to check the interchangeability tomorrow if nobody knows for sure.

    I would think so. My dd is a 94 sentra with the ga16de and manual trans.
