hey richard, the head bolt on my old ls motor was stripped, and we took tried to take the head off cause it was the only valuable thing on it. we used a die grinder and grinded off the top of the bolt and it came off.
on a head bolt thats what id do.Originally Posted by BTEC
every time i changed a head gasket i use new head bolt for that same reason...
b20's blocks are know to strip easily
head bolts didnt cause this problem you replace headbolts so it doesnt break the bolts due to stress.... the stripping in the block was caused from didnt thread it in before torque or over torqueOriginally Posted by wrekonize

you could use h22/f22 headstuds. but you will have to cut a lil off and cut slits in the bolt problem fixed.

I dont know if I would trust a helicoil for a headbolt. try maybe tapping it out to a bigger bolt size or weld and re-tap.
