Default Need some info on making my gst fast new to the dsm world

I just recently purchased my friends 1992 eclipse gst..we are putting the motor in now. the motor was rebuilt from top to bottom. And the block was bored a little. Has new 2nd gen pistons, and 1 gen crank and rods. The head was fully cleaned out and jdm cyclone camshafts and vavletrain. Someone let me know what these cars run in the quarter stock and what mods i would need to run in the low 13's or mid 12's. All advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

On a FWD DSM, it's gonna be a bit harder to run in the 12's with some minimal mods unless you have good traction. Slicks, retreads, or DR's are gonna be of alot of help. As far as "upgrades" are concerned, you should start with the basic stuff first. Turbo back exhaust is good for about 40whp on a BONE STOCK car with stock turbo. That alone should bring you to 235-240whp. From there, it's really up to where you want the ceiling to be. You have a ton of options and avenues to help you meet that goal. I can help you with anything you need, just shoot me an email or a PM, and I'll figure out a setup that'll suit what you're looking for.

I've seen virtually stock dsm's run low 14's in the quarter. With your mods and I guess you're running a 14b you could hit low 13s with your setup.

stock on a brand new motor would be low 14's....but typically a used stock ds will run between 14.5-15.0. Although they are really cheap to mod and easy to make go faster. 13's should be no problem, 12's will most likely require some slicks or draf radials on a FWD. check this page out I know it says it's for 2gs but all the mods on the page will work on your car as well. I think RRE (road race engeineering) has a write up like this one for 1g.
