    Default Nissan 240sx project car (new purchase)

    hey im from columbus GA, i just picked up this 240sx i found down near mobile alabama sitting safely in someone's parking garage. Thought it was pretty rare to find a stock 240 in this good of condition, car is clean inside and out and runs perfect. All the trim is good, all the interior is clean and dmg free. I was really shocked when i found this one. I've been looking for a 2nd 240sx coupe with little luck, i've been finding ricer molested junk heeps for twice the price of this one. Drove 3.5 hours to Athens GA last weekend to look at a 240 that had 300zx headlights taped in place and sitting on a bed of aluminum foil.

    Either way, here's my soon to be scca/drift car project. Advice and parts wanted.

    looks clean. scca I'd say start researching before you do anything. Drift get a clutch pack diff, coilovers, and a bucket seat.

    if you're talking about the black/primer one on craigslist with 300zx headlights... i drove like 4 hours to Athens to buy that car, he said it ran perfect.... biggest piece of shit ive seen in a long time. None of the gauges worked, its wiring was all chopped up, battery was in the trunk in a wood box, gears whined, alignment was so bad it was hard to keep the car out of a ditch, and it vibrated your teeth out of your head. huge piece of shit.

    did finally find a 2nd 240, paid a little too much for it $2500, but the engine in this car is immaculant... looks like someone did a half way wire tuck and cleaned a lot of the parts. Engine feels real healthy and its the dohc with the better looking frontend.

    So now im set.... time to start choppin em up.

    cant really tell in the picture, but it looked like the guy rewrapped a lot of the wires, mostly new hoses, has some braided lines too. outside of the car is fair... no body damage but a lot of fade and peal.

    yes!! beware of that piece of shit. I actually offered him $1500... after driving all the way to Athens i just wanted to bring a 240 home... guy turned it down....

    Pretty stupid move on his part. Nobody looking for anything more than a project shell is gonna buy that.. car was fucked up from all angles. Rims were curbed to death, tires were bald, bumper was falling off and didnt line up. rust, duct tape and aluminum foil all over the place.

    First thing I would do to the car is work on the suspension and brakes get that out of the way right now they are cheap upgrades. This gives you time to think about the motor. wether you want to keep the SOHC KA do a SR,RB,CA swap in it. Each motor has it advantages and disadvantages I have worked on all three and owned a S-13 which had 2 RB25's 2 Sr20's and a KA as well as other JDM S chassis cars. So feel free to ask any question. Also a Free note dose your seat hurt your back? you can fix that for free by unzipping the back and taking out the 3 springs that are for support you sit farther back and your back dose not hurt from driving.
