What does it do when you turn the key? Does it just click?

Make sure you've got good grounds from the engine to frame and from the battery to the frame. If you've got bad grounds, the starter isn't getting a complete circuit and can't get enough power to turn the motor over.

Also, make sure you've got a heavy duty wire going from the battery to the starter itself.

out of time probubly, pull out all the plugs and start doin a compression check let us know what you find.

ps if you took the distributor off it is possible it could be 180 degrees out of time.

Even if the timing is off, the motor should at least turn over initially.

    bad compression is the case.

should have 10 lb difference at most between all cylinders.

    my b16 has 180lbs at 246k miles.

should be around 220 i think.

I could be way off on this... But check to see if motor is locked up. Hopefully I am wrong, but that is what it did when my sister's Camry locked up...

if the cams dont spin but the crank does u got a broken timing belt. if nothing spins at all u got a bad starter or a locked up motor.

sry to tell yah but even if the tensioner was loose he is still fucked. honda motors are non interference motors.

Thank god for that because I broke a 20k mile timing belt once. No idea how but when I pulled it off 5 teeth were missing on the factory Honda belt.

If the cams aren't spinning it would explain his comp test. Broken timing belt might be the problem, and as far as I can tell I don't think he should have impacted his valves if they're in normal positions for a B-series. OP: You need to take the timing cover off and examine the timing belt, it'll probably give you a good idea of what's going on. If there's no timing belt on the cam gears then try spinning them slowly and see if you change your compression test results. If you can get every cylinder to come out right, then all you need to do is re-time the cams and put a timing belt on it. If you can't get them all to come out even then you've got a bent or impacted valve that isn't seating properly. That means it's time to take the head off and see if the motor is salvageable at all. It probably isn't, if that's the case.

Here's to hoping you only have a broken timing belt.
