If the chassie is a TE72 then you are right that thier is a hidden fuse, its located in the driverside fender well. Its a fuseable link that is by itself, It has a green connecter, and it looks like a wire that loops back into its self. They go out randomly with out anythig causing them to fail. You can use a jumper wire to test it first, and then should switch it out to a inline 30amp fuse. You have to remove the fender plastic or pull the bolts towards the front to see it.
