    Default b18 swap.

    okay, i i just finish my swap last night. 97 ls_v-tec in a 93 civic hatch and the fucking hood won't close. Seem like the cover are keeping the hood from closing properly. any one had this happen before and how do i get it to shut right..

    well, if u wanna get it shut right. you gotta put the engine in my car, than the hood would shut. LOL.

    take a hammer and beat the shitt out of the cover and it will allow more room for it to clear!

    yeah, try that last night with a 10lb hammer. but it didnt make a different. any other suggestion?

    Cut out the bracing on the hood that's preventing it to close.

    IM USING THE STOCK LS MOTOR MOUUNT. EVERYTHING FIT PERFECT. I HAVE 5 MOUNT TOTAL. FRONT TRANNY, TOP TRANNY, REAR , RIGHT , AND FRONT RIGHT(where the Ac compressor was).

    if you cut the support on the hood it may close, but you might have a problem with it getting scratched under load cus of the motor flex. your best bet is the putting a spacer in...

    sounds to me they got the motor jacked up an aligned in wrong? I have done many swaps too now unless he has a H22 swap I might can see some issues lol so maybe he isnt sure what he has?

    i have a friend with the same problem but with a GSR..
    and its just the motor mounts, i say get some new ones
    for that swap and car.

    well you can modify your hood and do wat some folks do 2 their hoods, for that JDM look, take off your hood find some misc (2) 11mm sockets and then tighten them down with some longer bolts to hold them up and your hood should sit higher, but leaves you with that JDM gap/room so hot air can breeze on through ..

    he got it fix awhile ago. this was dead until somebody got bored.
