    Default LS1 in an SC??

I was just exploring the engine swaps done to Lexus SCX00s and I have not seen an LS1 put in one, has anyone heard of or seen it done? I LOVE these engines and their trannys...

But more than likely I'm going to keep the 1UZ in it and build the hell out of it

LMK, I think it would be SIC!!!!

Back when I was considering getting a sc300, All that I could find at the time were sc400s. I thought about getting a sc400 any way and doing a lsx swap. I think that the only true hassle that you may run into is wiring the lexus gauge harness to the lsx computer. From a physical standpoint it should not be very difficult at all. Nothing that some custom motor and trans mounts won't fix. All in all that would definitely a real nice swap.

I know bro, i would love to drop one in my 240z... It would be a beast, well I just found a web site for the 1,2,3uz engines that can put mine over 500hp... So I guess I'm going to keep mine since it only has 40XXX miles on it!
I just dunno if I wanna keep it auto or not, ill prob turn her into a street/strip car and buy me a carolla or cressida for the drifting part LOL

The "stock" rear end in the SC is garbage... At the least it needs a Supra TT diff, but I'm going with a Kaaz simited slip from www.horsepowerfreaks.com that site is insane!

The TRD rear diff will hold the LS1 power w/o any problem. I know of several race cars using that with far more HP than the stock LS1 has w/o issues.

That would be a sick swap, although you can easily make the 1uz have just as much, if not more than, a stock LS1 has by simply going FI. Don't know what the cost involved in doing an LS1 swap would be, but I'm guessing it's going to be close to what FI'ing a 1uz is. Which would be more reliable??? That's really the question. I've put almost 80K mi on my stock motor since going FI. Not boosting much either, but boost none-the-less. The unique factor nod would have to go to the LS1 swap, although as someone said they are putting them into just about anything these days too. It would be sick as hell though. I actually thought about doing something similar when I had access to a full Z06 motor/harness/ecu/etc just a few months ago. It would be cool to have that kind of HP/TQ while staying NA.

I say a nice H/C/I LS1/T-56 would make that car move out pretty nicely.

^^For sure, I want to do cams, headers, fuel system, forged pistons/rods, vortech v1 supercharger w/IC, and throw an AEM on to tune it.. SHOULD put me around 400-450?? Ill be happy with that. Then I need to decide weather or not I'm going to make it a strip car or drift car Auto or Man.... O well, I have time to worry about that after the engine!

AEM? No. Google LS1-edit. Anything is possible. But you'd need to fab engine and tranny mounts of course and modify your driveshaft. It's going to cost a LOT of money if you are paying someone to do it, which it sounds like you would be.

400-450? You can make that with cams and bolt ons to the wheels with an LS1. With an SC you should make 600+ easy. Unfortunately what you listed is about 15k-20k
