SI vs LS ?????
Well my brother got b18, and my right hand man got b16, both got bottom end, LS got that torque on got deck b16 be killin that mid-range
B16A
HP: 170
Torque: 117 lb-ft
Redline: 8200rpm
B18b
HP: 142hp@6300rpm
Torque: 127lbs-ft@5200rpm
Redline: 6800rpm
teg, heavy then a civic, my bro had ls in his eg 4dr, it quick man
not that the 16 not cuz it is 2
i ran my buddy's eg with a LS when i had my b16a3 del sol. it was close but i pulled on him at the end
Ask yourself this question.
Do I want to be able to take off at the jump and get hawked down at the topend, or do I want to get a car or so put on me at the start and hopefully come back by the end of the race. Well thats the result when typical ls and b16 swap cars run. The ls jumps and the b16 comes back near the end (if the mods are close to being the same and the swaps are in the same chassis).
^^^ YEP
B16= TOP END
LS= LOW END
TOO BIG
lulz this is the first thread that I've seen that has the same question that's been asked before and no one flamed him for making itI guess you guys are growing a heart now lol

i just never really have been a fan of the b16, just doesn't have the low end tq. although, when built, you can have a fucking crazy high redline.

Yea, the GSR 5th is just enough to drop it down a bit to get the extra. I cruise around town in 5th gear, using 4th might help me, but oh well. lolOriginally Posted by Sammich

Think your dad might bring the camaro out there if I said there was someone bringing a 95-96 gsx out there to give him a good run? Seriously.

ls's get boring on top end but b16's are all around fun motors

i was running a straight ls teg before and got my ass handed to me from a ls with b16 trans. i didn't know what to think of it.Originally Posted by Sammich
Yes, the B16 lacks torque but you just have to get use to it; learn to utilize it's powerband since it lacks power anywhere out of VTEC + a VTEC motor will have more potential than a B18A/B.
This is assuming you only have 2 choices: B16 or B18A/B.
the b20b gsr head and b16 trans.....just all motor, talk about raping someone. straight put someone to shame with the setup in a gutted crx.Originally Posted by Sammich
edit: that would be the setup i would run with, IF you plan on going all motor, but for a boosted application, then gsr or ls/v with b16 trans.
on the other note, i'm done threadjacking, haha.
