    Default I need help...i fucked my car up

    This is GTIKID, i'm logged on from my friends computer though

    so today (friday 9/16/05) i'm at the track and i get in a few good runs since it was fairly empty...they were my first runs at a track and i did so so...my best time was a 15.8. But thats not the point. On my 5th and final pull, i'm racing my friends GSR. I launch good, 2nd gear goes good, 3rd gear NOPE! I actually shifted into back into 1st gear! Some of you might know what happens when you do that. Anyways, i freak out and get scared as shit. On my way home though, my car was doing fine for about 10-15 minutes and then all of a sudden my CEL starts flashing and i'm like uh oh shit and my car starts sputtering. I pull over, restart my car and the CEL goes away. Another 5 minutes down the road it turns back on and begins to sputter worst! I pull over, turn the car off for another couple of minutes, start it again and the CEL is still there. I finally make it home, unplug the battery, hook it back up, CEL goes away, and the car is still sputtering. HELP! What could be? i read on the vortex that it could be a coilpack and i'm hoping thats what it is. I'm gonna get it scanned sunday b/c obviously tomorrow is NOPI, but if any of you guys might know what it is or have a clue, please let me know. Thanks!

    Cliff Notes b/c this is a very long post
    1) racing at the track and accidently shift from 2nd back to 1st
    2)15 minutes later on road home CEL flashes and car sputters
    3)restart car, no CEL, car doing fine
    4) 5 minutes later, CEL stays on and more sputtering
    5)finally make it home, unplug battery, reconnect, CEL gone but sputtering still there
    6)i read it might be a coilpack
    7)HELP in anyway!!

    nothing at all. the car is completely stock. and I have a 3 year warranty from carmax

    Check that it didnt blow off a intercooler clamp at the pancake pipe...When you lose that seal in the system, it sounds like a subaru boxer motor...unfortunantly it doesnt run like one.
    How high did it rev when this happened, did it lock the front tires and skid, or just jerk you?

    well i took it to volkswagen and they told me it was a coilpack...my car is a VR6, sorry i forgot to mention that, so i didnt mess up any intercooler piping. They told me it was a coilpack and that my warranty should cover it...and yes my tires did lock up and skidded, and i immediately hit the clutch again...thanks guys
