Use OEM or ACL/Clevite, and no you dont have to run a special oil.

well see, i have heard you should use a thicker, since things are going to get hotter and not wanting the oil to thin out while in boost? blah blah blah, you know the talk.

also, most my friends well there muscle heads and build small blocks and big blocks. they run diesel oil while breaking in (500 miles) then they go to what they would use on a normal bases..

i would totally agree on this cuz diesel oil has more additives/detergents.

any one else agree/disagree. can i get some input.

its gonna be my first time building (I have helped, but nothing for a boost app. or a 4 cylinder), how much boost would be recommended with out having to sleeve the block.

Mmmmm, i think that's it. i want about 300 out of an LS i don't think im missing any thing.

Well, build it how ya see fit, and try out your break in method, there are many different ways to do everything, but every built motor I have ever broken in I use basic cheapo oil. Then change it after it gets going....
(but I do use a lot of assembly lube , engine honey etc...)

Boost will depend on condition of the motor....

Some b series crack sleeves when they get up around 18 psi, some dont....
Also you will need to run a 3 bar map to run more than 12psi

Rods, Pistons, Bearings, headstuds, oem headgasket,3 bar, New timing belt, water pump, oil pump... and a VTEC Head, if you want to make some real power. Because unless you have a big big pocket a LS will never make stupid power...

im not really looking for stupid power, just wanna walk on some mustangs is all. 10 PSI sounds perfect, but the SRT-4 is sick and its boosts at like 14 15ish? and yeah, i would be using the shit out of assembly lube. i was thinking the hole bottom end built, do some new springs and retainers in the head, and rock about 8 PSI, till i can drop sick cash on sleeves

The weight of your engine oil will be directly related to your bearing clearances. Tighter clearances require thinner oil. Larger clearances require thicker oil.
