    Default VTEC Issues

ok im having issues with my vtec. i wired it but it still didn't pop vtec. i thought that i maybe wired it wrong so i disconnected the soleniod and the check engine light came on, so i know i wired it right. then i changed the soleniod and still no vtec. so i took off the whole pressure thingy and solenoid and cleaned them, and still no vtec. ppl ask me if my 02 sensor and speed sensor are connected or if its working and they are. im using a stock p28 and still no vtec so i switched to a chipped ecu and again no vtec... what the problem...

He is using a p28 which doesnt look for a knock sensor!

sounds to me either wiring, or temp switch isnt hooked up

you need to check multiple things.. if everything is wired up correctly, i would get an oil pressure gauge that has a fitting to screw in place of your oil pressure sending unit on the back of the block to ensure youre getting proper oilpressure to the sending unit.... and make sure that sensor is plugged up, and plugged up good.

if all that checks out then check the wiring for your ECT sensor, and make sure that sensor is good..
