o.0 u're lenny then who's the EK dude? My SI's took me forever.. the blades; if u can finish within two days.. 5-6 hours a day.. the trick is to get a smoooth surface. say u just finish with 400 grit, then use 600 to cut down the 400grit scratches, then 800 to cut down the 600's scratches, then 1000 to cut it down then 1500 to cut down 1000's then 2000 grit to cut down 1500's scratches.. get what i'm sayign?Originally Posted by yunglaosta

you can also do it with steal wool if you dont have any major curb marks. pm me if you need info on it.
^ i've heard about that. well i kinda did it but the person who showed me how to do it didnt exactly know what he was doing. Isnt it like a ball or a patch of steel that looks like what u would use to scrub your dishes/pans with but it's much softer?

Oh Lenny, richard suggested a Drill and polishing Stones... i seen him tested, and the results are great plus it's less time consuming.

yea kinda the same thing. just go to home depot and ask for some they come in like three different grits you can use all three or just the medium one and the fine one. i have a few pics of some wheels im working on, but only on my phone and cant load them.Originally Posted by khaxnguyen
he didnt do it to a wheel. he did it to an aluminum sheet--looks like the thing to put on a rear bumper when u cut holes in them for air flow. forgot what it's called but it was shiny!Originally Posted by yunglaosta

yes show me when u can! i'm really anxious to see it. when i first started working on cars, the guy asked me to do it to(polish) a valve cover but it looked no where near shiny... so i thouhgt it was to clean it.. lol? but it was a failure.Originally Posted by steedracer

How much did this cost you, steed?--excluding the power tools. i think Mother's polishing compound would bring out the shine more too. Tell us the process, if u will. =POriginally Posted by steedracer
here is steedracer's work:

the tools where prob about $100-150. had them for a while. the steel wool prob about $5-10 and about $5 for the rubbing compound. also you can use gloves if you dont want you hands to be black.
1. to start off i sanded the curbs down witht the sander and drimel tool to smooth them out. take your time on this!
2. then start going over the wheels with the steel wool grade 2. you can use the rubbing compound with it. it dosend take much.
3. repeat step2 wit the fine steel wool and compound.
4. once you are finished with that you can use a wheels polish to polish them up and there you go you have some polished wheels.
in the last pic with the wheel i have to fix some more of the curbage but im just working on the wheels as i can. not in a hurry to finish them. gl with yours. if you need anything else just let me know.
i already had a sander and in sand paper about 35$
there you go cheaper and faster. the tools you dont need if you dont have curbage.
Yes sir mine were in good condition, one scratch, one spot were the clear coat was miss'in
goddamn needa do dat to my shit. got curbage all around one of my wheelsOriginally Posted by khaxnguyen
