the more K it is, the bluer .. then violet. 6000k would be white with a blue hue to it.. 10000k is blueeee .. anything more is purple..

I have those on my Lexus and 6k on the Supra...the 43000k blow the 6k out of the water.
Edit - I just saw you're buying lights for color and not light output.![]()
So, disregard what I typed.
4300 is the best. Most output of light.
But before you get hids, retro-fit your headlights.
:idb:
this is a true statement, the lower the kelvin, the more light output. The higher the kelvin, the less. OEM uses 4300k I believe. But HID's in stock headlights without projectors won't really do much for you but look colorful.Originally Posted by G.C
Stick to 4300 or 6k for the best light. Higher light temperatures will give you more blue and LESS LIGHT.
DAYUMMMM, thanks for all the feed back, i think i might go with 6000k, i like the bluishness of the lights!!!
Are yellow highbeam lights illegal??
the yellow lights are illegal in some states. TN for sure dunno about GAOriginally Posted by f22 a1
4300k for best light output, 8k and up for a more blueish color
ive had 10k and i now have 12k. 6k just gives you a super white look as the 10k has a blue tint. its whatever your prefer
I think, for the sake of visibility, you should go with 4300k. They offer the best output and attract the least amount of unwanted attention from the police. 6000k doesn't have the same lvl of visibility that 4300k offers, but it is a reasonable trade off to have something that looks "blue".
One thing I do find silly about your last post- you are inquiring about aftermarket HIDs, which are illegal, but asking if the high beams are illegal. To answer both questions concisely; they are both illegal. Any vehicle sporting HIDs that are not OEM can be ticketed for violating DOT regulations.
If you do decide to go the HID route- be sure to look up Nitro for a great deal. (Shamelss plug...)
