Default Kia Rio wont hold alignment...

Got an 01 Rio, having issues keeping the alignment on it. Ive read lots of issues with this on the Rio and other shitty Kia's yet no fix for it. The car eats tires pretty bad, like 6K on a set of front tires before wire is showing

Anyone ever messed with one of these cars and know why it keeps doing this? Ill have a print out of the before/after specs soon as I can get it on the rack.

Its real easy when your a tech and have access to an alignment rack but Ill PM, please do tell me how to do without a rack. Im curious now. lol

But the car just wont stay within spec. After a month of driving it needs an alignment again.

How are your bushings? Or struts?

No, been in GA since it was new. There is no play in anything though, like tie rods, bearings or ball joints.

Sometimes bushings can get soft to a point that the only way they move is under a load. Which would make since in your situation being that it's aligned oneday and out of align the next day. I would first take an impact socket and go over every bolt on the suspension to make sure nothing's shifting. Then I'd check the front subframe to make sure it's not shifting on you. Do the rear have it's own subframe?

IDK about the rear, Ill have to look when I put it on the rack. Ill go over all the bolts and make sure everything is tight. You cant get the urethane bushing for this car because that was my first thought.

We had one as a shop beater. I hated driving it. I am assuming it has to do with the high ride, and squishy suspension. Sell it and get a honda.

It runs and drives... why spend money I dont have to? Its not even worth anything if I sell it so Ill drive it as is until it dies.

is it the tie rods that keep losing alignment? Just use locktite or weld everything so it is locked in one spot.

Was going to suggest that. Try using blue loctite first, if it still wiggles out then try red. Both of those ways you at least have an option of resetting it later. If you red-loctite it and it comes free, then I'd go ahead and set it and weld it in place. If it moves then, something has to be bent. O_o
