Emissions help
failed my emissions need help with the codes and what i need. i already kno i need a new cat.
here's the test results..
RPM=0757
KOEO = PASS
READINESS = PASS
MIL CMD = FAIL
CODES READ = 1
DLC = PASS
DTC1 = P0420 Catalyst Sys Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
DTC2 =
DTC3 =
DTC4 =
DTC5 =
Fuel Cap 1 Test = Pass
Fuel Cap 2 Test = None
Catalytic converter = Present
that means u need to put a cat on it. reset the codes and drive it. not sure what else ur asking.
MIL CMD means military command. You're going to have to go to Fort McPherson in Forest Park and find a drill sergeant and get him to verbally command your ECU to work in the way that would pass the Emissions Test.Originally Posted by j0natell0

yeah just put cat and replace O2 sensor i believe bank 1 is before the cat if im not mistaken thats what my teg was doing and the same code and i replaced O2 sensor and cat and it passed i dont know for sure what it really was cause i did both at same time but good luck with you

universal cats art like 70 at autozone. gotta get it welded in. i think the direct fits are like 120.

try a defouler on your secondary O2 sensor.

get a direct bolt in make life easy on yourself and who works on your car in the future.

get one from either RPM,Full line Exhaust,Georgia reman Cats, or dealer!

Po420 is NOT a O2 sensor!

my 98 accord was throwing a p0420. I replace the secondary sensor with a new one = no more cel.
P0420 meas that the secondary sensor thinks the cat is bad.
id go with the second 1 looks more of a direct fit.

ok so here's the deal. i just bought a direct bolt on catalytic converter and a new downstream o2 sensor.. but the last bolts taking off the old catalytic converter is wierd.. i think the nut and the bolt is welded in together?? ive been trying all morning trying to loosen the nut but it wont budge even when i drowned that bitch in wd40 about 10 times.. idk if this makes any sense so heres pics..
i think they are both welded in im not sure??? but maybe the nut is super rusted..
