Default Does ANYONE know the FULL answer to this question?

VW JETTA: Can you swap an AVH/AZG (2001-2003) engine into an AEG 1999-2000 just by swapping the older AEG harness and Manifolds onto the newer AVH/AZH engine?

Searched SEARChed and SEARCHED, then Posted a topic on VW Vortex but still not REAL answer.

Kinda need info ASAP since I need to order an engine this week!

    Thx in adv.

Explain, I can't just take a simple "NO" when 2 people have assumed "yes" and one kinda confirmed "yes".

    what's the reason TFizzle?

is that the 2L... and you want to swap one mk4 2L for later model mk4 2L? i would assume you wouldn't have any problems just need motor + ecu. not much has changed on it except for ecu since they launched the 8v motors back in 80's.

i would call up EPG and talk to guys up there to confirm.

Finnally got some definitive answers on VWVortex stating that you can use the current intake exhaust and harness on the newer engine which will mean no newer ECU will be needed.

    EPG?
