    I wouldn't go over 5lbs on a stock motor. To safely tell do a compression test, how many miles are on it? If you want max reliability rebuild it first.

    But you CAN turbo a D16 easily.

    What size turbo? That depends how much PSI you can push... Each turbo is different, a bigger turbo would run lower PSI than a smaller one. Also, what condition is the motor in? I would personally rebuild it first... Yes, you can easily turbo a D16... Boosted SOHC aren't that bad.

    yea but 200hp is about the breaking point of the rods.

    go to d-series.org to learn more. plenty of them are running 12's and faster with vitera setups

    lulz at mods editting your sig...

    Also, it is how much HP the engine and parts can take... not how much psi the engine can take.

    But you still need to know the condition of the B18c also... Never just turbo an engine that you don't know about if you are looking for relizbility... Make sure everything is in good working order.

    Search.......your will find 2billion articles on this. B18b with 14b at 12lbs is about as much as you need, or want. Slowhatch on here had his ef with b18a swap and my old 14b and the car was a monster. Turbo size makes a world of difference. Build the d16 with vitara(as in suzuki vitara) pistons and some rods. You can make 400whp with a very cheap setup. Good luck.

    reliable=approx 100whp over stock

    you can get more, but you roll the dice past 200-210 on a stock internal sohc.

    i'm pushing 250whp, pootr has 240+whp, another guy here (miro gt (i think that's his screen-name)) 230+whp. we're all willing to pop the motor and drop another in.

    you'll have more versatility with a b-series, but also more $$ to begin with.
