my ecu is the only part of my car i didnt get my self and i was told i had a p13 spoon ecu, well i know it is a p13 but i dunno about spoon. heres pics whe ni opened it up, only thing i know is have no speed limiter. and vtec maybe early

so i opened her up.. check on the pics and tell me what you think, i didnt see anything spoon, that blue spoon thing was just a piece of paper floating around in there.
    .
thats what was written on there i guess

    model number i guess

in the top left of the picture there is a component that has been burnt, blown, shorted etc,w/e, it looks damaged and probably not working, anyone know what exactly that part is/does?

automatic h22a ecu. i know for the civic/integra ecu's something like that messes up too. i was working on a car, that burned up 2 ecu's, something in the engine harness was bad, probably a bunch of bad wiring. it looked rigged up. so i put in a known good working harness. and problem solved. i heard if you have plugs crossed up, it can do that too?

just judging from the N50 on the side of the ecu. usually manuals are like J00, J01, or N01, N00 or something like that. a 5 being in there designates that is came originally an automatic. at least that is the case for civic/integra ecu's mainly.

i know automatic ecu's will work on manual cars. some throw codes, and some don't i guess. but yeah, i think you should get a new p13. all of the ecu's i've dealt w/ that had a burned spot, couldn't be fixed, cause the track[s] were burnt up.

yeah, from my experience the car will run but kinda rough iirc. yeah you could get a chipped p28, or something and get it tuned.

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly

With my H22 EK (EJ for "JDM purists"), I had a Hondata P28. Got it dyno tuned by a pro and didn't worry about it ever again.

You can call our tuner, as he sets his own appointments and get setup for when its convenient for you.

more than likely you have the iacv/iat/iab/pwr steering plugged up wrong and it's fried the ecu.

we need to double check the continuity of the wiring before you plug in a new ecu to make sure you don't fry another one.

if you get the ecu the same day i tune you i'll check to make sure you have the iacv/iat connected properly before we tune/plug in the p28.

call me so we can discuss/set your appointment.

and the p13 isn't a spoon as are the majority of the ecu's out there that say mugen/spoon/etc. they are just hacks that put a decal on it and sell it for more than it's worth. all they did on that p13 was just adjust the binary/hex code to remove speed limiter and maybe shift vtec...possibly increase the overall timing and fuel trim, but it's far from tuned.

the only way to really get a tuned ecu is to have it tuned in your own car on a dyno.
