Default JDM Prelude distributor will not spark

I have a 1995 Prelude from Japan. About two years ago I bought my Spec V and park the lude until I could get the money to fix it up.

Over the winter a rat had gotten into the car and chewed up some of the wires. I fixed all the chewed wires I could find, but for some reason the distributor does not spark. We think that it may be a bad ECU. Now I'm not totally positive that is it.

Anyway my questions is would the ECU be the same for the American version as the Japanese?

for the most part. rats love to chew on and ruin wiring. there are probably some places that got chewed that you haven't found yet...seen it happen quite a bit.

Some ludes had internal coils and others had external coils.

I had the same problem with my 4th gen. Go to advanced and get a 2000 civic si cap and rotor its the exact same as the jdm internal coil. If that doesn't work then you might want to check the distributor. and no the ECU from the jdm lude is not the same

You have a 4th Gen mine is a 95. I don't think that will work. So what is the difference in ECU and where can I find a match?

It will work if you have a JDM 95 prelude. I had a 95 JDM H22 in my 4th gen. A 4th gen is the 92-96 prelude and they come with a P13 ECU for the H22 and a P14 for the H23
