Leaking Transmission.. help

my old car has a leaking transmission. i took a look at it today and one of the bolts that goes through the tranny was tightened too much or something and there is a small crack starting from the hole. anyone know of a shop where i can get this welded or any better options? i really dont want to get a new transmision if that can be avoided. btw the car is automatic. reps for help

well if it is easy to get to, not to much. hard to get to, a lil more. the also have to make sure that the area was clean.

Telling ya, JB weld or some epoxy, if it's just a hairline crack or something. Cheap and holds fine.

its a 96 civic. the crack is relatively easy to get to and is very small yet trans fluid drips from there pretty quickly

Telling ya, JB weld or some epoxy, if it's just a hairline crack or something. Cheap and holds fine.

QFT you'll be amazed of how good it works, but that only if you Read/Follow the direction.

Dont use the pack that uses the red tube an black tube JB weld it takes to long to dry! like 15hours-24 hours to cure

Use the pack that includes 2 tubes one orange,an one blue tube this pack will dry in about 45mins cured!

Also clean the sopt to be JB welded an clean an use some Sand paper or scotch pad to clean an it will make it stick alot better

You can not weld that crack with any type of fluid leaking out. You'll have to take the trans out, turn it upside down, and then clean the crack so no oil residue is anywhere near it. When you heat it during a weld, it will draw the fluid out of the crack contaminating the weld.

As said, JB weld.

aite, well i jus JB welded it today. i actually used JB WELD KWIK or sumthing like that, the suggested orange/blue bottle i'll let u guys know if it holds or not. thanks for advice

if that doesnt work you can use an aluminim rod with a stick if you can keep it dry but thats gona be hard
