My wife has a 1999 LS Integra and whenever it first starts up the motor is really loud at idle. It sounds like valve clatter, but Im not too sure. What are some ways we can take care of this issue? Thanks for any insight

does it just last for a second when it starts? it may just be dry running until oil P. builds up and feeds to the head and bearings.

sounds if its that loud is a rod knock
its seems as if it coming from the valve cover. It will sound like that for a few minutes and quiets down a bit. It doesnt go away but it tones down significantly.
valve adjustments cost about 30-40 local shops!
that would be my starting pointOriginally Posted by Tech5
