Default How hard/costly would this engine swap be?

I have a 98 Ford Escort body and a D15 out of an EG. I wanna put the engine in the car.

obviously, this is just a little daily driver to get to school and work and keep miles off the mustang. I mean i can get the car for 200 and the engine for 300 so, i figure with that kind of money, it should be alright...if it will work without costing me a whole lot...

STOP! just put the regular 2.0spi motor in it, they dont cost no more than 300$.. You can even put a zetec in there for a few hundred more..

its GONNA BE MORE WORK THAN ITS WORTH FOR ANYTHING....you can get a motor to repair it for the same price as the D15.. thats whats the deal. Ive worked on alot of escorts...and replacing that motor will take you all of 2-3 hours.

think about all the custom work your going to need.
    mounts
    axles
    wiring
    linkage
    cooling system
just to name a few after u get done with all that u might as well of bought a running car.

    $500?

You'd have to spend more than just the price of the car and motor....

it wont be a $500 dollar car, it will be a $300 shell, and a $200 motor sitting around because your not going to want to spend the amount of money for un need work, when you can just go spend more money on a car and motor that is somewhat meant to be together

anything can be done for the right amount of $$ and this sounds like its going to cost you more than the original 500 ur talking about, things that will not work and would have to be modified, axles, mounts, wiring harness fuel supply, shift linkage, not no mention the other few 100 things u will run into while doing the swap. will not be done on 500 keep in mind all the fluids, replace bad gaskets, etc
