    Default $50 paintjob

When attempting to do this what kind of paint and clear coat are you suppose to use?

I just started this yesterday on a friend's car and used rustoleam oil based gloss black paint from home depot, it was like $24 and you need mineral spirits too like $7

    I don't think you use clear....and it's pretty glossy!

It actually comes out pretty good!

LOL @ all my neighbors faces watching me paint this car with a roller haha

Could this be put on with a roller and yield the same results as the rustoleum. And wouldn't I need a clear for this?

Has to be sprayed but looks 10x better. Cheap gun can be had for $20. Single stage = no clear.

LOL Not even near the same concept here. You could spray it and walk away and have a better job than you will ever get even after all the hard work and time that goes into the "$50 paint job."

Its better to use a spray gun, you will also need a air compressor. Spraying with a gun is totaly different from a spay can. You will also need to primmer it first, and stick block the primmer with 320 grit sand paper befor spraying the base coat.

It’s just the good ol’ boy in me

Go for it. I admit I was curious enough to try it on a fender I had laying around. I had better results using wal-mart brand spray paint to be honest. Laid down so smooth it wasnt even funny.

I'll post pics tom. of my $50 paint job doing it right now, just one side of the car left, easily done in one weekend. I'm really happy with it so far, I tested the trunk first and cleaned it with degreaser, anything strong, rubbed, buffed, etc. It's strong as is....lol
