    Default Question about power seat?

Hey guys so it's like 3 am and I got bored so I decided to install a front set of black leather seats in my max. I came across a problem, the power doesn't work in the driver's seat. So basically I can't move the the seat front or back, nor lean it front or back. Out of the 2 switches, one switch DOES work, and it is the switch that lets me angle the bottom part of the cushion, but that's it. The backrest part of the seat is angled so far away from the steering wheel I can't rest my back against it while holding the steering wheel LOL! Any suggestions? Maybe a bad motor or something? I'm mechanically inclined but I don't know anything about electronics so...help please?

Are these direct replacements? Did you car come equipped with power seats? Check to see if you have power to the switch. If power is in the switch, switch is bad. If there is no power getting to the switch you can either:

    A. Find why there is no power
    B. run a direct 12+ wire to the seat

My new seats are off a maxima same year as mine so they are direct replacement, and my original seats weren't power, but all the wiring is there already, I jsut had to hook it up. Which I did. The passenger seat works perfectly with power and everything, but only 1 of the 2 switches of the drivers seat works. How can I check if there is power to the switch? When the switch that doesn't work, nothing happens, does that mean it has no power?

    youre a fucking moron.

obviously either the switch or the motor in the seat isnt getting power. check all the wiring and make sure its all good, if it is, you might have to replace the switch/motor.

like i said... motor sounds like its locked/bad... idk about nissan, but here with dodge and chrysler, if a vehicle wasnt built with an option and it is added, you hafta use a scan tool and add it as an option in the pcm... or tell the computer it has it so it knows wtf is goin on...

use common sense first. if power is comming then it has to be the motor/switch.

I guess I'll start with putting in a new motor then. Thanks. And to whoever called me an idiot, we didn't start life with electrical knowledge, not everyone know this kind of stuff. I have done far more to my car then the average person has. So you can keep your insults to yourself loser. Thanks everyone for the help.
