Toyota 4A-E?
Does anyone have the specs on this engine? I think I might have stumbled onto something very very odd...

Fuel injected right? That's what the E stands for...
But I'm starring right at this thing, and its got a carb on it...
What's the valve count?

No it definitely says 4A-E on it, that's why I'm saying this is really weird, its also in an AE86, so it should be a C... Any thoughts on this?
On a side note, would a 2T carb fit on a 4A?
-
Yes. Are you sure it's a carb and not a throttle body? -E should be SOHC EFI naturally aspirated.
Explanation of Codes
Double checked to make sure too, if the engine block code is 4A-E then someone's done a carb swap on it.

I am completely certain its a carb, but yeah I'm at a loss at how to attack this issue.
The carb's gone bad, suspect bad springs, but if its the wrong block, I'm going to have my hands full with the tuning.
-
It's not impossible that someone swapped it to a carb. What CAR did it come out of, that might help.

It's currently in an SR5 AE86, I'm pretty sure this is the carb off the stock 4A-C, but don't know why anyone would swap to an E that makes less power without also swapping to fuel injection...

Ok, back from the dead, found out its a imported block from an Australian AE82. (Shit!) Originally FI FWD, carb slapped on, bolted on to god knows what kind of transmission...
Anyone want to buy a frankenstein hachi? lol

depends on how much.
I have a bit for hybrids.
