    Default Ball joint in Eg..

Well my hatch just owned me while I was swapping out the driver side axle I messed up the threads on the lower ball joint so now it's stuck on a lift at my old work (good thing I left there on good terms) but just need to know if it's as easy as it looks on changing out the lower ball joint on a civic? I'm stressing myself out over it.

yeah, thats usually how they are held in. well the snap ring keeps it from working its way out. ur still gonna have to press it out.

you should just change the whole knuckle spindle with a good lower balljoint. save you headaches. if you want the lower balljoint. i have a knuckle spindle from a prelude that has a good lower balljoint if you want. dont know how you get them out tho.

all you really have to do, is take it apart at the upper ball joint, and then you can swivel the spindle out to one side, and the axle comes out like that, no need to mess w/ the tie rods, lower ball joints.. etc......... but replacing it. would be taking the spindle off, and like everyone says, take the retaining clip off, and beat it out, since it's bad, and press a new one in..

That was the biggest pain in my a$$, took me 2 hours to do it. . and it was the factory ball joint that was in there since there was no retaining clip holding it in. . Thanks for the info on doing it though it helped alot actually.. but damn I'll never do that crap again anytime soon. . except to maybe to replace the other ball joints soon since they look pretty worn out. .
