    Default need a powerful welder

I need someone with a welder capable of welding 1/4" steel. My welder isnt powerful enough to go that thick. The piece will already be tack welded together and the steel is 1/4" thick so no worry of blowing through. It should just be about 3 different lines to weld, each about 5 inches long. I will compensate you for your time. Its just a little piece that should take like 3 minutes to weld once set up.

Preferably someone within 15 miles of the marietta/kennesaw area.
    Any takers?

find a mom and pop exhaust shop, they may have the equipment to weld it up. but just out of curiosity, why cant your welder weld 1/4" metal?

I'm in East Atlanta, I'd be glad to help you out, although its a bit further than 15 miles. I'll be around the house most of the day tomorrow if you're interested.

It takes quite a large welder to penetrate 1/4" steel. At least a 250 amp.

well that depends on how many welds you are willing to layer on top of each other(beveling the edges)

I've read about "Making your own welder" using a bunch of Microwave power transformers - going backwards of course.

If you're adventurous enough (Stupid? lol) you can make your own for cheap.
