look on the timing belt side of your motor. bout half way down right below the head. Water pump is ran off ur timing belt.

good rule of thumb, change timing belt and water pump every 100k miles.
u have markings on your cam gear as well as your crank pulley u can line up for timing. You need to go grab a Haynes repair manual at Autozone, and start reading. It will asnwer most of your preventative maintance questions
