    Hey there,

Yes, the 2JZGTE does fit. For the '88, you need to either swap in the crossmember from the '89.5 or later, or use a set of aftermarket mount brackets.

On the 2JZ I think that there's a small part of the firewall that needs to be "relieved" slightly, if you're going to use the stock twin turbos.

You'll want to make sure that you either get an engine with the right oil pan configuration, or change the oil pan. You need the rear sump, and since most 2JZs come from Aristo cars (front sump), you need to get a 2JZ or 1JZ rear sump oil pan setup from a US 2JZGTE (Supra) or a 1JZGTE oil pan (Soarer or Supra).

Plus you'll need it wired up: http://www.phoenixtuning.com/

That wiring conversion is $450 plus $40 for return shipping/insurance. (You need to provide the original engine harness and the new engine harness).

For auto/manual I would run an R154, they are pretty easy to get, fit right into the Mk3, and work extremely well. Bear in mind that if you get one from an MK3 Turbo, you'll need a 1JZ bellhousing to bolt it to the 2JZ. (We have those too).
