I was asking around about where to get a custom gear box done at and someone mentioned his buddy that got his DSM tranny internals cryo-treated. He said it makes them 100% stronger. Have you guys heard about this? How reliable is it?

i just e-mailed the shop on the link listed above. I was having trouble finding a stronger gear box for my car thats not located on the other side of the globe. Then a guy suggested this to me. I'm wondering if this cryro will make it strong enough to handle the abuse i want to put the car through.

There is no way it makes them 100% stronger. I looked into this with my P11.
On average:
Shot peening 15% stronger
Cyro another 20% stronger
And then then the PAR gearset i was looking into is virtually indestructible.
Anyway it doesnt make it bulletproof but helps out a good deal
if its honda transmission you can always try GEARSPEED

Its a Suzuki Swift GTi tranny. The only place for me to get a tranny is in the UK and its about $2,500 plus S&H. i also checked on getting a dog cut gear box but its $4k. So now i'm just trying to find a little cheaper route to go cause i won't be able to race my car until i get this tranny to be able to handle the engine's out put. So basically i'm screwed.

The cryo shop e-mailed me back saying they reccomend getting the gears REM'ed then cryo treated. I'm still iffy about it though.
