    So the motor that I posted a picture up out of the 83 Civic will work with no modifications? I don't care about the power as much as I do keeping the car in tact. I am assuming that the 5 speed tranny from the 79 will bolt up to that motor?

    I listened and already there. Also in 10 other places and talking to several people that have done it a few times. Just looking for all the info I can get.

    Yes. That engine will go in with NO mods. And it will bolt up to the factory 5 speed. But the engine HAS to be a 1500 and not a 1300. That's where the block number comes into play. My swap had a minor mod done to it as in having the alternator bracket grind down to fit it properly next to the engine block. Later, QD.
