    Default fabric laying (pics added)

I bought a roll of suede and did my arm rest which they didnt curve around. So they came out nice. But I am trying to wrap my console arm rest but it's curved around and I dunno how to do the edges. Do I need to cut the corner part and match it up smoothly? I will upload a pic so you can get an idea.

i can lay it flat on each side obviously, but when it comes to the corners, i have too much fabric, but I dont know how to smooth it out. I tried to notch it but it doesnt lay side by side like there was never a cut....

Some company on the x-runner forum makes a cover for it. Its the top piece with a band persay stiched on for the sides. I dont think you will get it with one piece.

This is gonna be a bit hard to describe but I'll try.

What I think you should do is wrap over the top from side to side...where a rectangle of cloth would have the short sides of the rectangle at the front and back of the console. The long edges of the rectangle run parallel to the sides of the console and reach down to the bottom. Tighten and fold down, and fold over on the sides to curve it, cutting off as much excess as you need to smooth it down.

Once you get to the front of the console, fold the corners in and trim them as neccessary. Don't worry too much if it looks like there's a fold-seam there, it'll look natural as long as you're careful. Essentially the cloth would look like it was upholstered down, which it essentially is. The only major fold-seams would be the front two corners on either side, and try and trim as much of the excess as you can but keep it clean. That's the only way it's really gonna work. The other way you can do it is to absolutely cut the corners to where they match then stitch them together and put it on rather than gluing down the corners, would last longer but is even more obvious.

Sorry if the explanation doesn't really make sense...if you point out what doesn't make sense about it I'll see if I can explain it differently, I promise it makes sense in my head.
