I just bought another car this month and I got pulled over on the way home. I was nervous as heck, but when the cop got to the car I told him that I had just purchased the car. He told me that as long as I had insurance already that is was state law that your current insurance had to extend coverage to that car for a minimum of 14 days from the date of purchase. All I had to do was show him a bill of sale and a CURRENT insurance card and he let me go.
