they sell replicas on ebay for about $150 i think? and paint should be about another 100-150 depending on where you take it.. and yes it uses factory holes for the spoiler if you already have a factory spoiler.
Its not like these wings actually give you downforce, why bother?
Sell the wing you have, dont but that extra wing, and viola!, you've got 300 bucks outta nowhere. You can put that towards getting lighter rims instead.
But you probably want that wing anyway, so check out ebay!
Ironically, two things here are amusing, when you probably weren't even trying to be funny.Originally Posted by Atlblkz06

B.) The real weight savings on lighter rims on an RSX would be in the general region of the owner's wallet. Considering the cost of the "Lightweight" rims versus getting some wheels that actually look kindof nice and are the same size, he could get the wing AND the wheels and get about the same performance benefit!
Yeah, like said theres a guy on ebay that sell replicas. There was also a guy that sold them painted, if not Sprayglo would prolly charge you about 120 to paint it. Also like said before it goes on the factory holes.
You niggas know my pyroclastic flow, its R A W!

go to spoilerdepot.com they sell cheap and painted but are replicas
Spending money on dressing up a car is a waste IMO - Just my opinon.Originally Posted by Kaiser
A) This is not about performance, just looks. The 10 grams of downforce it produces is offset by the weight of the spoiler. We're talking about street driving, downforce doesnt do squat when you take turns at 30mph. Its just a drain on your wallet on the highway.
B) Well said. The wheels are for looks only. I think wheels add more to the car's looks than a stupid ricer wing. I meant lightweight compared to some crazy chromes. A nice 5 spoke should work well. There are enough of these cars out there trying to out-rice each other. We dont need one more.
While I certainly see your point, and I don't deny it, I feel that if it is a FACTORY option'd spoiler then it's not really ricey. That and I myself find the Type S wing to be quite good looking on a single-tone lowered RSX with nice wheels. It looks very....hrm..."Tracky"? Also, the downforce provided is decent enough, much more than you give credit for. At least with the REAL Factory wing. I can't vouch for any replicas, but the factory wing is also quite light, not that the RSX would be hurt by having weight added to the rear, it's balance is nothing to write home about. One of the reasons I like the Type S/Type R wing so much is how it ties the "New" Integra with the previous generation integras. Typically besides body proportions they don't share a whole lot of physical features, but what little they do have in common is accented by the wing. Something perhaps a little in the way of an "Acquired taste" I guess.Originally Posted by Atlblkz06

In other words, sometimes spending a little money to dress up a car can sometimes go a long way towards showing people you have a car that you're serious about. My A4 would be well served by me getting an S4 bodykit, it's the same bodypanels except the lowermost section of the A4 is a matte black rubbery compound, while the S4 has different front and rear lower panels as well as the side panels being body color. The difference that a change between matte black (What I have) to Glossy black (What I would have with body color) is huge, and especially when the car's lowered it makes the car look more "Complete." In this case I think the Type R/Type S wing can do the same for an RSX. It's sortof like the Fedora that perfectly matches the black wingtips and tailored pinstripe suit. If he puts it all together, it makes a big difference. Then again I can certainly see the argument that if everything else is already there then the hat's unneccessary. If he already has the factory spoiler that makes a bit of a difference too. I digress though, the point of all this was to answer his question not argue about whether or not he should put it on there.
I cant say much about the technicalities of the wings, I really dont know much about em.
I see what you mean though. I guess "Type R" has baggage attached to it in my head.
The A4 is a drop dead gorgeous car, but I see what you mean about the little stuff adding up. Good post!
its his car let the man spend his money =P
look for trimking1 on ebay, got mines from him painted pearl white all for $160. this was about 4-5 years ago and still in great condition.
